As many of you know, I do love a bit of planning!
But left to my own devices I would spend far too much time planning, and not enough time doing… whether you’re like me, or the opposite (hate hate hate planning!) there’s a tool that can help us all out.
For a few years now I’ve been using my own little system (heavily based on Darren Hardy’s Best Year Ever, which is now annoyingly hard to get hold of in the UK) to plot my goals in business and life for the year ahead. Breaking it all down in quarters and months and weeks.
I like this process, because it gives me a framework that it’s pointless to go beyond. Thus stopping me from endlessly planning – it has an end point!
Whilst spending a day at the end of December working through my plans for 2016, I realised that whilst my system is great for business as usual, and long term plans but doesn’t work so well if you have a big goal that needs to be achieved in a certain timespan. The structure doesn’t lend itself (there’s too many fields to fill in!) and there’s no built in accountability.
I need another tool to help me plan those big launches.
Enter stage right – The Freedom Journal!
Last year I was lucky enough to both appear on the Entrepreneur on Fire podcast hosted by John Lee Dumas, and attend the Podcasters Paradise Conference he hosted in the USA. So when I heard John was launching a new venture – The Freedom Journal – this year I just had to check it out.
The Freedom Journal is a physcial book that:
- guides you through the process of setting your number one goal
- helps you step-by-step to achieve it
- becomes your companion through your project as you fill in the details as you go
- is set out in such a way you’re going to be dying to start writing on the pages
It’s going to be part of my business tools package for 2016!
If you want to grab a copy just head over to TheFreedomJournal.com – if you’re reading this pre Saturday 6th Feb 2016 then you could take part in the Kickstarter launch and get some cool bonuses too. (it’s all via the link above).
